Faster than delivery
Once you know what you're doing, cooking a real meal takes less time than waiting for DoorDash — and tastes exactly like what you actually wanted.
Eat what your body wants
You're the only one who knows exactly what you want to eat. Cooking is how you translate that vision to your plate.
A creative practice
Three times a day, you have a chance to do something meditative and satisfying. A flow state in the kitchen can set the tone for everything else.
You're probably here because you haven't found a way to fit cooking into your busy schedule. Maybe you've even convinced yourself that cooking isn't important.
It's not your fault.Modern society makes it almost impossible to get your bearings in the kitchen. And before you know it, you feel like you're in too deep to ever learn.
You don't have a grandma Yoda to teach you the ways of the kitchen. In a world filled with more cookbooks, TikTok recipe tutorials, and dumpling workshops than stars in the Milky Way, it's natural that you'd give up and just order delivery again.
But it was never a time problem. You just never had someone in your corner showing you how to think in the kitchen.
There is a better way.Food Jazz is the fundamental cooking education everyone needs — the easiest way to make sense of the madness and take back control of your diet. You deserve to eat well. And it doesn't need to be hard, stressful, or time consuming.
Hey, I'm Akshay.
I help busy professionals learn to cook effortlessly and intuitively.
I raised $3M to build a marketplace for home-based restaurants and helped 300+ people transform their home kitchens into businesses. I've staged at Chez Panisse, hosted hundreds of pop-up dinners, and cooked whole lambs over open fire for crowds across the Bay.
Cooking has been a part of my life since I was a child. For me, food is more than fuel. Memories are created over the warmth and aroma of a homemade meal.
Now I want to bring that same joy into your kitchen. I'm on a mission to help 20,000 people finally learn to cook by 2030.
One-on-one · In your kitchen · Bay Area
I come to your kitchen and help you build intuition in the place where you actually cook.
One real meal a day, not from a recipe. That's how the habit actually forms.
Structured practice and accountability to lock in what you learn between sessions.
After 30 days, your friends and family come over and you cook them a real meal from scratch. A coming out party for the cook you've become.

Navigate the world with your tongue. Practice tasting when you eat out, watch people cook, and build your flavor vocabulary.

The Planner
You can make a tasty meal, but it takes hours of planning and if something is slightly off or you're missing an ingredient, you have a panic attack.
The Opportunist
You find things to eat, but it's never really what you want. Sometimes you come up with combinations that are... disgusting.
Intuitive
You're in flow. You can make complicated dishes in a breeze. Stress-free, quick substitutions, and every dish works out. Open the fridge, see what's there, make something great.
No more DoorDash.
No more HelloFresh.
No more CookUnity.
Just the zen of creative self-sufficiency.
Take learning to cook off your plate.
New connections, new confidence, new dinner parties. The simple habit that changes the trajectory of your life.
That's exactly who this is for. We start from wherever you are — even if that's boiling water.
The in-home sessions are about 2 hours each week. Between sessions, you're cooking meals you'd be eating anyway — just with more intention. Most people spend 20-30 minutes.
The early access rate is $500 for the full 30 days — normally $1,000. I'm keeping it lower for the first cohort because your feedback shapes the program. For context, that's about what most people spend on delivery in a single month, except this actually teaches you something.
A cooking class teaches you one dish and sends you home. This teaches you how to think. The difference is accountability — I'm in your corner every single day, not just for a two-hour workshop. You tried to start cooking on your own before, almost doomed from the beginning. Food Jazz solves that.
You keep cooking. The whole point is to build a skill and a habit that don't expire. You'll also have ongoing access to me for questions.
Part of the onboarding is a kitchen audit. We'll figure out what you already have that works and fill in a few gaps. Nothing I recommend is expensive or exotic — just solid, simple tools that make cooking feel good. The right pan, a sharp knife, the basics done right.
The whole method is about cooking to your body and your preferences. Vegan, gluten-free, whatever. The framework adapts because you're learning to think in flavors, not follow someone else's recipe.
The 1-on-1 is Bay Area only for now. An online cohort is coming — drop your email on the waitlist and you'll be first to know.
No. This is a cooking practice. You're not watching me demo a recipe. You're building a daily habit with structured support, real accountability, and someone who's been doing this for 20 years in your corner.
Or just call or text me.
Sure — you could stitch together all the glorious free content across the vast interwebs. Eventually you'd learn to cook and begin to understand the fundamentals.
But if you're on this page and you've read this far, you've probably tried something like that before. And the results... well... they're not what you've been hoping for.
You have good taste. Let's unlock it.
